On May 2, 2008, the Let’s Talk, Let’s Test Foundation and the DuSable Museum of African American History presented the Voice of the People Awards, honoring individuals for their work in the fight against the African American HIV/AIDS epidemic.

More than 350 people attended the reception and awards ceremony, hosted by Monique Carradine and featuring performances by singer Maggie Brown and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, who performed an excerpt from her one-woman show, “Sometimes I Cry”.

Let’s Talk thanks its sponsors, whose generous support helped to make this event a success: Walgreens, Best Buy, Community Insurance Center, the Belden Stratford Hotel, Fellowship Fleet, Flowers Unlimited, and WVON radio.
